Beki Hemingway and her husband Randy Kerkman are long-time friends that I met during my musical antics in the Chicago area. When my family was investigating a move to the beautiful state of Colorado, Beki and Randy gave us a “tour guide’s view of Denver” and invited us into their home for dinner and cupcakes. We sat on their porch at dusk and listened to their dog, Diego, “sing” along with the harmonica. Maybe that is what convinced us to move (!) … though we ended up in Colorado Springs instead of near our friends in Denver.
Beki Hemingway is a singer/songwriter currently based in Denver, with stops in Chicago, Nashville and Glasgow along the way, and she writes and sings some of the best songs you’ve never heard.
Her long and varied career has found her playing in several bands, including hysterical rockabilly punkers This Train, as well as singing live and studio backup vocals for a variety of bands/musicians, and sharing the stage as an opener for such acts as Shawn Colvin, Aimee Mann, Pierce Pettis and the Vigilantes of Love.
So when we heard that the new CD “I Have Big Plans for the World” had been released, we rushed over to pick up a personal copy and a giveaway copy. The songs are addicting!

We’ve thrown in a Colorado photo book just for inspiration, and to celebrate our new home state.
